Rahul Ravipudi & John Fiske Appointed Public Entity Plaintiffs’ Co-Lead Counsel in JUUL Labs Product Cases

Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP partner Rahul Ravipudi and Baron & Budd shareholder John Fiske have been appointed to serve as Public Entity Plaintiffs’ Co-Lead Counsel in the JUUL Labs Product Cases,  representing public entities — including school districts throughout California — in litigation against the electronic cigarette manufacturer.

As detailed in the Case Management Order signed on February 18th by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ann I. Jones, Mr. Ravipudi and Mr. Fiske will share the responsibilites of prosecuting the public entity cases only, which include but are not limited to, appearing at periodic court-notice hearings, sign and file all pleadings related to the action, coordinate with the litigating public entities in scheduling settlement discussions and discovery, setting agendas, entering into stipulations, and in other necessary interactions with defense counsel, as well as liase with Private Plaintiffs Lead Counsel and Liaison Counsel and Defendants Counsel on all matters.

To date, Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP and Baron & Budd have filed cases in California against JUUL Labs Inc. on behalf of 10 school districts, representing 900,000 students, seeking to hold the e-cigarette manufacturer accountable for the expenditure of public and taxpayer resources required to respond to the vaping crisis.
